The cap is currently set at $64.3 million in this, the second season under the NHLs latest collective bargaining agreement. Teams must currently hit a minimum salary cap obligation of $44 million, based on average annual salary over the length of a players contract. "And I said to the board there shouldnt be any issue or consternation, if thats the cap level, its because the revenues have gone up. And thats a good thing."
